Changes to Modules on 8 October 2014
A number of changes are planned to modules on the system during the at risk session on 8 October 2014.

Removal of old versions of software
We plan to remove the following software versions from the system:
cray-tpsl/1.3.04
cray-libsci/12.1.01
12.1.2
cray-petsc/3.4.2.0
3.4.3.0
cray-trilinos/11.4.1.0
Removal of modules with old naming conventions
There are a small number of modules on the system that us the old Cray naming conventions. These cause confusion for users as they are not supported by newer Cray software releases and so often do not work.
The planned module removals are:
hdf5 hdf5-parallel netcdf parallel-netcdf netcdf-hdf5parallel xt-mpich2 xt-shmem cray-mpich2
Change in default scientific software modules
The following module defaults will change:
castep 7.0.2 => 7.0.3 crystal crystal09 => crystal14 dlpoly 4.05 => 4.06 gromacs 4.6.5 => 5.0.0
Change in default system software modules
The changes are listed below.
Users should note that the latest version of the Cray MPI library is incompatible with older versions and for this reason we recommend that all users recompile and relink their codes after the defaults have been changed.
