ARCHER Operating System Upgraded
The ARCHER operating system has been upgraded to Cray Linux Environment 5.2 (UP03). The recommendation from Cray is that all applications should be recompiled to ensure that they work properly and benefit from new features and performance improvements.
Our testing prior to the upgrade has shown that the majority of applications run fine without a recompile but that some applications may need to be recompiled (particularly if they were last compiled a long time ago). If you see any odd behaviour or failures of your applications following the upgrade, we would recommend recompiling in the first instance.
If you continue to see issues following a recompile, please contact the ARCHER helpdesk.
