HPC for urgent decision making
Do you use HPC for activities related to disaster or accident response?
If so then you might be interested in submitting a paper to the SC19 workshop on using HPC for urgent decision making, UrgentHPC. The deadline for submissions is 14th August and all papers will be peer reviewed, with accepted papers published by IEEE TCHPC.
The idea behind this workshop is that modern advances, such as our ability to capture and deliver data in real time, opens up many opportunities for leveraging HPC in urgent decision making when faced with disasters and accidents. Whilst using machines like ARCHER for this type of work has obvious potential benefits, to do so effectively raises significant challenges in a variety of areas that must be addressed.
